We have an exciting opportunity for a content writer to join the CIRAS team. We are an established membership organisation providing a confidential health and safety reporting service to the transport and infrastructure sectors with ambitious plans to increase our impact.
This is a new role created to meet the increasing need for a wide range of content for different channels and audiences ranging from the frontline workforce to senior executives. New ideas and creative thinking are welcome.
The confidential reports we receive generate a goldmine of case studies and data on emerging trends. You will use this to create engaging content, also drawing inputs from technical teams in our parent organisation RSSB, external experts and published research. You will be creating articles, case studies, marketing materials and more for use in our own and trade publications, website, social media channels and space within our members’ own training and briefing materials. You will help us to grow the range of content types and channels.
You will have excellent writing skills and the ability to adapt style and language to different audience types and channels as well as optimise for SEO. A natural curiosity and analytical capability are critical to enable investigation of data and trends and building the story they tell, as is a proven capability to research a wide range of sources to create engaging content. A passion for creative content, excellent planning skills and a track record of delivery are essential. You will bring up to date skills in optimising the business-to-business use of social media channels.
As a member of a relatively small team it is important that you are collaborative and have the flexibility to contribute to activities beyond your core role, such as participation in our member engagement events.
You don’t need to have in depth knowledge of health and safety or the transport and infrastructure sectors. What you will need is a genuine interest in enhancing the health, safety and wellbeing of the UK workforce and the passengers and public they serve, curiosity and an appetite to learn.
CIRAS is a membership organisation funded by and for our members. From small beginnings 22 years ago supporting one train operator we are now established as the confidential health and safety reporting provider for mainline rail and Transport for London operators and supply chain. Our membership base has expanded to almost 1900 in recent years to include light rail, tram, bus and construction companies.
We share our values of being trusted, customer focussed, knowledgeable and innovative with our parent company, RSSB. You will work in collaboration with both subject experts and communication specialists from across RSSB to collaborate on content.
We are based in London and have a geographically dispersed member engagement team.
In return we offer excellent terms and conditions including:
- Annual performance related bonus
- 30 days holiday (plus bank holidays)
- Defined contribution pension scheme
- Health and dental care plans
