Gap in station car park fencing being used as a shortcut is fixed.
People were using a four-metre gap in the fence between Penzance railway station car park and the bus station as a shortcut. Both are busy areas, where a bus, coach, or car could hit someone.
The gap in the fence is near a bus parking bay, and bus drivers may have poor visibility when pulling out of their bays.
The reporter asked for a temporary barrier until the fence was repaired.
Great Western Railway (GWR) shared the information with the station manager and regional facilities manager as soon as it received the report.
The station manager arranged a temporary barrier. GWR also instructed its maintenance provider to quote for a repair and asked for the fence to be fixed as a priority. After a delay due to a change in contract, this has now been fixed.
