Case study: insecure door
08 July 2025
The customer service manager control room door at London Underground’s Knightsbridge station hadn’t been secure since it was vandalised. Someone could force it open and gain unauthorised access. This was a risk to station security and staff safety.
Staff were therefore worried that their place of refuge couldn’t protect them from violence or other danger. The reporter was concerned about the time it was taking to fix.
In response, Transport for London confirmed that a contractor has now installed a new compliant door.
