Health, safety and wellbeing concerns: it’s all worth reporting.
CIRAS confidential safety hotline is independent, and it means there’s always somewhere transport workers can raise health, safety, and wellbeing concerns. You can use CIRAS if you:
- prefer to raise your concerns in confidence
- have tried to raise them before without success, or
- if your concern can’t be raised through any other channels – such as if it’s for another company, not your employer.
When you speak up about your concerns, whichever reporting channel you use, it helps make transport safer for everyone. When companies know about your concerns, they can take action.
If your concern is urgent – if there’s imminent danger or risk of harm – tell your supervisor or use appropriate reporting channels instead of CIRAS, so they can deal with it straight away.
Clear message
Our latest campaign, Speak Up Safely, launches today, 7 September. The message is clear:
Speak up = take action and speak up when something doesn’t seem right.
Safely = CIRAS provides a confidential way to speak up about safety concerns, protecting the reporter’s identity.
You can speak up to CIRAS:
- through our app (on Google Play and the App Store)
- using our online form
- by post to FREEPOST CIRAS
- or by phone at 0800 4 101 101 (UK) / 1800 239 239 (ROI).
Speak Up Safely launches initially across social media and digital channels, featuring the types of concern you might raise with us.
If in doubt, speak up: it’s all worth reporting.
New members’ pack
There will be new assets shared with members in the coming weeks, in a new campaign resources pack – including posters, leaflets, email banners and more – and also added to the CIRAS shop.
